Choosing your cover
The Sanitas Profesionales range is designed for self-employed workers in Spain. All three options give you comprehensive private healthcare through the full Sanitas medical network (cuadro médico / medical directory); the main difference is how you pay for the care you use. Choose the no-copay option if you prefer no per-service charges for covered care, or a copay option if you prefer a lower monthly premium.
The three options
What they share
All three options provide comprehensive private healthcare through the Sanitas medical network. The main difference is the balance between the monthly premium and charges when you use covered services.
How to choose
If you see doctors and specialists regularly and want no charges per visit, Sanitas Profesionales (no-copay) keeps your costs predictable.
If you use healthcare now and then, Profesionales Plus gives you six free services a year and a modest capped copay after that.
If you rarely need care and want the lowest monthly cost, Profesionales Óptima pairs a low premium with a small per-service copay.

Already registered
Once you're registered and paying into Spanish Social Security (RETA), you can use Spanish public healthcare. Many autónomos take a Sanitas Profesionales policy as private healthcare alongside public healthcare — for faster appointments, wider choice of specialists and English-speaking support — while keeping their public cover.
On a visa route?
The Profesionales range is standard private health insurance for autónomos. Eligible non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals arranging cover for a qualifying Spanish visa or residence application should instead ask us about Sanitas Residents Visado or Residents Platinum Visado.
