Is it right
For most eligible students aged 14 to 35 coming to Spain for a study stay of 3 to 14 months, Sanitas International Students is usually the first Sanitas option to check. It is designed for foreign students studying in Spain, with no copayments, no waiting periods, healthcare cover in Spain and repatriation included, subject to current policy terms and certificate wording.
If you are over 35, studying for longer than 14 months, applying with dependants, or on a non-standard route, the standard student product may not fit — in that case we check alternative Sanitas options before you apply. The word “International” here means international students coming to Spain, not worldwide medical insurance: the cover is for healthcare in Spain.

Without NIE
Yes, in most cases. Many student visa applicants request a quote before they have an NIE or TIE, often while still in their home country. Passport details may be enough at the initial stage, depending on current Sanitas requirements and documentation, and the details can be updated later. Tell us where you are in the process and we will work with what you have.
Student vs NLV/DNV
Student visa insurance is different from NLV or DNV cover, because the applicant profile, age range, course duration, certificate wording and policy type can differ. Students should not automatically be routed to Sanitas Residents or Residents Platinum unless the standard student product does not fit — for example an older applicant or a longer stay.
