What is Sanitas Más Salud Familias Plus?

Sanitas Más Salud Familias Plus is the lower-premium version of the Más Salud Familias family health insurance plan. It offers exactly the same comprehensive family coverage — full Sanitas network, paediatrics from birth, maternity, dental and the unique Family Care Cover — with a small copayment per consultation instead of zero copayments.

The copayment structure is designed to be predictable: your first 6 outpatient consultations each year are charged at €0, after which a modest copay applies per visit. Regardless of how many appointments you make, the total you pay in copayments is capped at €360 per insured person, per year — so your out-of-pocket costs are always controlled.

Sanitas Dental 21 is included with the plan, giving every family member access to all Milenium dental clinics with over 30 dental procedures at no extra charge. Mental health sessions (20 per insured, per year) are covered with no waiting period and no referral required.

Waiting Periods — Sanitas Más Salud Familias Plus

Like all Spanish private health insurance plans, Más Salud Familias Plus has waiting periods for certain treatments. Emergencies and psychology are covered from day one. Most services become available within 3–10 months.

Transferring from another Spanish insurer? If you have had continuous cover with another Spanish insurer (or a Bupa Group entity) for more than one year, Sanitas will waive all waiting periods. You simply need to provide your prior policy details and most recent premium receipt when you apply.

Yes. Más Salud Familias Plus is designed for families, couples and individuals. Your partner and children can all be added to the same policy. Each person on the policy receives their own personal cover — their own Mi Sanitas access, their own medical records and their own annual limits (such as 20 psychology sessions per person). Children under 14 must be added with the parent or guardian who holds parental custody, unless otherwise agreed in writing with Sanitas.
Yes. Newborns can be registered from the date of birth — with full cover and no waiting period — provided three conditions are met: the mother's delivery was covered by Sanitas under this policy; the father has been insured on the same policy for at least 240 days prior to delivery; and the baby is registered within 30 days of birth. If these conditions are not met, the baby can still be added but standard waiting periods may apply.
No. Sanitas Más Salud Familias Plus is not approved for Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV) or Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) applications.
