Yes. Full inpatient and outpatient hospitalisation, ICU, surgery, anaesthesia, post-operative care, childbirth and all meals during your hospital stay are included. You also get a single room with private bathroom and a bed for a companion as standard. Note that hospitalisation has a 10-month waiting period for new customers (emergency hospitalisation is immediate).
New customers who haven’t held a Sanitas policy in the past 6 months are currently eligible for 50% off their premiums for the first 3 months. Additional discounts include 4% for annual payment and 10% lifetime family discount for 4+ insured persons. Ask us when you get your quote to confirm what applies to you.
Yes. The Mi Sanitas app and the Blua telemedicine platform are fully available in English. You can book appointments, start video consultations in English 24/7, access your digital insurance card and view your medical history — all in English. Blua is now included free forever with this plan.
Yes. You can take out this Sanitas plan before receiving your NIE number, and payment can be made by international credit or debit card. This is important for expats applying for a visa who haven’t yet moved to Spain or opened a Spanish bank account.
Yes, if you’ve been continuously insured with a Spanish health insurer (or any Bupa Group company) for more than 12 months. You’ll need to provide a copy of your previous policy conditions and your last payment receipt. All waiting periods (except childbirth) will be waived.
Yes. This plan meets all Spanish consulate requirements for the Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV) and Digital Nomad Visa (DNV): no copayments, full hospitalisation, repatriation coverage and full coverage from day one. We issue your health insurance certificate the same day your policy is confirmed, in English.
